Leech Paper Dolls Off the Internet for Free!

First it was music, right? Then it was movies and television to get slammed with piracy out on the Sea of Three Ws. Well, I’ll bet the paper dolls industry is really crappin their pants. (Colorforms is probably filing bankruptcy as we speak.) Introducing KiSS, the de facto standard for pushing paper dolls on the web.

KiSS, the Kisekae Set system, is a fun and easy paper doll game for computer users. KiSS takes its name from the Japanese term kisekae ningyou which refers to playing dress-up with dolls.

The KiSS paper doll game allows you to load any of thousands of KiSS paper dolls on your computer and dress them in different clothes by using your mouse to click and drag the clothes.

Let me just say: KiSS is huge. And expect to waste quite a bit of time downloading dolls that end up being your basic old anime characters. Scientist boy with ratty hair, tilted specs. White-haired girl with vengeance. Elf with massive hair and vengeance. Science elf with white rat, tilted vengeance.

Slack & Hash’s is about as good as Kisekae gets. These guys are tough. They have tough names. They’re as tough as you can get while still playing with paper dolls, you know? Very experimental within the genre. Not beneath lampooning themselves. (Take the Ladies of Mainframe series. I mean they really give it to Dot. Concussion and all.) Anyway, scroll down their page and they get into this phase of making Trollan (of He-man) dolls. That renaissance won them four editor’s choice awards! The editor of KiSS has his eye on you, boys!
