Swimming Guests Face The Tuba

In Austria. Piano, singer, tuba, bass drum, cymbals, 4 video screens, location: indoors swimming pool (swimming audience (optional)). In addition, the 3rd act of Richard Wagner’s Tristan and Isolde, as played by a Singer with her Viola and Sea Shell (noise inside), a Piano with Feathers, a Tuba Partially Filled with Water, a Large Drum ( Chalk, 9 hearts), Viola Deer Antlers, Cymbal Player Standing in the Water, and another Tuba (Player Swimming.)
I do say. Really. Quite!!
The title of the complete performance translates as “Swimming and Being Silent!” I will also direct you to this magnificent page of notations, which appears to invent its own gorgeous symbology for the kooky instrumentation. The notation for the Partially-Filled Tuba appears to be musical notes mixed with water depths. And let’s not forget Finnegan’s Wake!
