How to Set up Amazon Fire TV Stick for the First Time

- Amazon account: You’ll need an Amazon account. If you don’t already have an one already, you can easily create it during the setup process. Having an Amazon account will allow you to access the latest Fire TV features and functionalities.
Steps to set up Amazon Fire TV Stick
Once you have all the requirements, you can now proceed and set up your Fire Stick. Below are the steps you should follow.
Step 1: Start by connecting your Amazon Fire TV Stick to the power adapter. Plug in the USB power cable to the micro-USB port located on the side of your Fire Stick and plug the USB type-A connector into the power adapter.
Step 2: Next, connect the power adapter to a power outlet. If there is no available power outlet, you can instead plug the power cable into the USB port on your TV.
Step 3: Plug the Amazon Fire TV Stick into your TV’s HDMI port.
Step 4: Switch on your TV and select the HDMI channel you used in the previous step. Allow some time for the device to load.
Step 5: Once Fire TV Stick has loaded, you’ll now need to set up the remote. Insert two AAA batteries into the remote and press and hold the home button to pair the remote with Fire Stick.
Step 6: Now, press the Play/Pause button to start the Amazon Fire TV Stick setup.
Step 7: Scroll using Navigation Ring and press the Select button to select your preferred language.
Step 8: Now you’ll need to connect to a Wi-Fi network. Amazon Fire Stick will automatically scan for available Wi-Fi connections. Scroll to your Wi-Fi network and press Select to connect. If required, enter your password.
Step 9: After you’ve successfully connected to a Wi-Fi network, the next step is to register your Amazon account. However, if you purchased your Fire Stick from Amazon, your device is already registered, and you can select the ‘I already have an account’ option to skip this step.
If not, click ‘I am new to Amazon’ and follow the on-screen instructions to register the device.
Step 10: Your Fire TV Stick is now being registered. The process may take a while depending on your internet connection
Step 11: Once the account registration is complete, Fire Stick will prompt you to save your Wi-Fi logins to Amazon. For ease and convenience, click YES.
Note: You can change this selection at any time by going to Settings > Network > Wi-Fi Passwords.
Step 12: In the next screen you’ll be prompted to choose if you wish to enable Parental Controls on your Fire Stick. If you decide to allow parental controls, you will then need to set up a PIN that you’ll use to access content.
Note: Again, you can review and update your parental control settings anytime by going to Settings > Preferences > Parental controls.
That’ll be all. A brief video tutorial will then play, and you can press the fast forward button on your remote to skip.
