Gemtacular Gone Be Bona Fide #

by why in cult

Chad Fowler: I was thinking we could deploy this on rubygems.org and maybe open up the source for a few collaborators.

RE: Gemtacular.com. Added to hoodwink.d, if you want to comment on gems. Also related and interesting: Dr. Nic and Erik Kastner offer Gem metastuff in JSON.

Wow, a mention by _Why! Very, very cool. Here’s an example of “gem metastuff in JSON ”: http://gems.metaatem.net/projects/hpricot.js

The gemtacular code is now in the RubyForge subversion repository.

svn checkout svn://rubyforge.org/var/svn/gemtacular

Erik – I’ve patched up gemtacular code so when its released the example will be:

http://gemtacular.com/gems/hpricot.js

Also supports callback and/or variable parameters on the url.

And now it works:

http://gemtacular.com/gems/hpricot.js

I also added an XML response while I was there:

http://gemtacular.com/gems/hpricot.xml

Enjoy.
