Instiki to Junebug #

by why in inspect

Want to move from Instiki to Junebug? I exported my Instiki as a zip of .textile pages and wrote instiki2junebug.rb to import my pages. Give it the Junebug username to assign the pages to and a path to the unzipped directory of files.

 junebug wiki
 cd wiki
 ruby instiki2junebug.rb _why ~/instiki-dump

Junebug is very appealing (and unlike Instiki, the Junebug site is actually up most of the time). But without full-text search, I’ll have to stick with Instiki.

zerohalo: The search problem sounds like a job for Ferret. Meanwhile, poor Instiki languishes. The current maintainer, Alexey, has been mostly unreachable for some time now. He popped up a few months back and was going to set up a few interested devs w/ Trac and SVN access, but then vanished again ‘fore the task was done.

Yah, one of the main downers for instiki for me is the lack of availability of the instiki site!!

We just opened up bitswiki

It’s a nice tool we’ve used internally to handle search, revisioning, markdown, etc. None of the other wikis quite met our needs, so we thought we’d throw our own open contender into the ring.

spammer: great chickens, it’s the chinese flu! someone save christopher plummer and julie andrews from the chinese flu, they’re austria’s only hope! with julie’s spinning and christopher’s ability to look dashing while sining folk tunes, we’ve no hope but to put the birds in their capable hands and protect those birds from the godless chinese horde.
