Ruby Quiz Anthology on Its Way! #
Triumphant! James Edward Gray II has played host to fifty ruby quizzes over the last year and the Prags are putting ‘em out in print, due in Feb 2006. My favorite angle on this is that most of the actual code in the book is written by a pile of contributors who’ve answered the quizzes (having paid obeisance to the 48 hour moratorium,) resulting in a very prismatic summary, a real kingly banquet with red satin carpets and the ghost of Tim Toady.
Anyway, a champion’s cheer to James and everyone who keeps Ruby-Talk running. It’s great to have a mailing list that is so friendly, so full of great ongoing conversations, which are actually productive and fruitful, to the degree that volumes will sell which merely relay the proceedings. (See the full Ruby Quiz archive for more.)

I love it.

Thanks for the good word. I’m excited about the book and really hope others will enjoy it too.

How much of the profits goes back into the the Ruby community? Perhaps as a donation to Ruby Central?
James Edward Gray II
I envision the profits going to encourage the administrator to keep sacrificing about one work day a week (or much more when writing a book!) to keep Ruby Quiz running smoothly, and I think that’s a very noble goal.
I don’t recall seeing your quiz submission yet, James? ;)
Seriously, I will consider a donation if the book is remotely successful, sure.
_why cult follower
You deserve every penny! Thanks for your hard work.
However, I will be very disapointed if _why doesn’t sink every dime he gets from the “Get Wink’d. The guide to underground MouseHolin’”-book into the cult.

Thanks Why!
Oh and my name is spelled wrong in the announcement. ;)
